Consider non-traditional forms of lead generation. E.g. Radio, TV, PR, Editorials, Spotify, Direct Marketing as examples.

Set a maximum goal (yet reasonable) for cost per lead. If your marketing team doesn’t hit it, it might be time to look elsewhere.

  • How NOT to fall into the many traps set by franchise, business opportunity salespeople during the discovery process
  • Don’t share too much. That is the job of the salesperson. All you want is the name, phone, email, investment level, how quickly they can get started and best time to contact.
  • Provide a “hook”. If you don’t know what your hook is, you are already losing the battle.
  • Filter leads through a process that’s enjoyable, educational and compelling.
  • Video is everything. Once you have the contact details share a “teaser” video on why your product is the best and why they should invest. Quick, to the point and visually compelling. Something they will show their family and friends with excitement.
  • Ensure you have an education / discovery portal designed to educate franchise prospects in the order that is easily digestible. Start at the beginning and make sure by the time it’s finished you, or your sales team are in a position to close the sale with a prospect that’s going to represent your franchise well.
  • Finally, hire and train competent, vested and intelligent franchise sales people. If the sales person doesn’t understand how to follow the process, qualify, ask the right questions at the right time, educate in the best order and throw what I like to call “sales hoops” at the right time during the sales process, then nothing I have listed above will help you.
